Overview

Stock prices tend to converge towards corporate value over the medium to long term; therefore, investing in stocks that are undervalued is a persistent source of alpha. The Japan Value Focus Strategy invests in undervalued stocks relative to their corporate value aiming to outperform the TOPIX over the medium- to long-term.

The goal of this strategy is to generate excess returns from the gap between market prices and fundamental values, as well as from catalysts that can drive share price revaluation. Returns are captured by identifying opportunities such as the progress of structural reforms, increases in shareholder returns, and the enhancement of competitive advantages, utilising our proprietary valuation model and superior research capabilities.
